Production method: Using p-xylene as the raw material, liquid phase oxidation generates crude terephthalic acid, which is then hydrogenated, refined, crystallized, separated, and dried to obtain purified terephthalic acid.
Product performance: This purified terephthalic acid is white crystal or powder, low toxicity, and flammable. If mixed with air, it will burn or even explode when it encounters fire within a certain limit. Its autoignition point is 680℃, the ignition point is 384~421℃, the sublimation heat is 98.4kJ/mol, the combustion heat is 3225.9kJ/mol, and the density is 1.55g/cm3. It is soluble in alkaline solution, slightly soluble in hot ethanol, insoluble in water, ether, glacial acetic acid and chloroform.
Uses This product is the main raw material for producing polyester. It can be directly esterified and polycondensed with ethylene glycol to obtain polyester. It can also be made into engineering polyester plastics. It can also be used as a raw material for plasticizers and a dye intermediate.
Packaging and storage and transportation Bag-packed products are packed in bags lined with plastic film. The net weight of each bag is 1000±2kg. The packaging bag should be printed with the manufacturer's name, address, trademark, product name, grade, batch number, net weight and standard code, etc. Stainless steel tank trucks can also be used for transportation. Before loading, the tank truck should be checked to see if it is clean and dry. After loading, the feed port should be sealed and lead sealed. The product should be fireproof, moisture-proof and anti-static during transportation. Bag-packed products should be loaded and unloaded gently to prevent damage to the packaging; when loading and unloading tank trucks, attention should be paid to controlling the loading and unloading speed to prevent static electricity. It should be stored in a cool, ventilated and dry warehouse, away from fire and heat sources, and stored separately from oxidants, acids and alkalis. It should be protected from the sun and rain, and must not be piled in the open air.
